Foton adds localised accessories range
FOTON Australia has launched a locally developed genuine accessories range for its Tunland V7 and V9 utes, strengthening the newcomer’s appeal to both trade and recreational buyers.
The range, developed with Australian accessory specialists Ironman 4x4, TriMotive, and MTL, includes canopies, roller covers, roof platforms, towbars, electric brake controller kits, recovery points, floor mats, and tray protection.
Foton says each item has been subjected to a local development and validation program, working in conjunction with the Foton factory and its Australian partners to ensure suitability for local conditions.
The accessories are available through authorised Foton retailers and, when fitted by an authorised outlet, are covered by the brand’s seven-year warranty.
Ironman 4x4 has been named as the hero partner for the program, supplying canopies, roller covers and roof platforms; TriMotive is responsible for load-bearing hardware including towbars, electric brake kits and recovery points; while MTL supplies interior and exterior protection items.
Foton Australia general manager Glen Cooper said the program was designed to support owners beyond the initial vehicle purchase.
“The launch of Tunland was only the first step in our Australian journey,” he said.
“A locally developed accessories range, created with the best partners who are experts in local conditions, is about giving owners capability they can trust and helping them get the most out of their vehicle.
“This range reflects our commitment to keep offering Tunland owners more, well beyond the point of sale and for the long haul.
“It’s also just the beginning, with the range set to continue expanding as we grow alongside our customers and their needs.”
Ironman 4x4 chief operating officer Matt Frost said the partnership aligned with the company’s long-standing focus on durable off-road and touring equipment.
“Foton is bringing 4x4 vehicles to Australia that offer capability, strength and value,” he said.
“We’re thrilled to partner with Foton Australia to offer Tunland owners the tools to enhance capability and versatility of both the V7 and V9, whether they’re heading to the job site or on an off-road adventure.”
Pricing starts from $129.95 fitted for carpet mats, rising to $6845.85 fitted for alloy canopies with either solid alloy opening panels or glass windows on all sides.
Other cargo options include an electric roller cover priced from $3717.07 fitted, a manual roller cover from $2814.08, soft tonneau covers from $950.62, and a roof platform from $2558.05.
Towing and recovery equipment includes a Tunland V towbar kit with seven-pin wiring from $1560.89 fitted, a Redarc Tow-Pro V3 electric brake controller kit from $871.33 (while stocks last), a 12-pin electric brake controller kit from $1428.61, an Anderson plug kit from $992.95, and recovery points from $418.01.
Protection items include rubber deep-dish mats from $212.64, a hybrid carpet and rubber mat set from $288.86, and a rubber tray liner from $232.42.
Most items are available now, with the rubber tray liner, electric brake controller with 12-pin trailer socket and recovery point kit available for pre-order. The Anderson plug kit is due for pre-order from July.
Foton says the range will continue to expand as the Tunland customer base grows in Australia.
The importer has sold 39 examples of its Tunland V7 4x2 in the year to date, placing it last within the PU/CC 4x2 segment, and a combined 649 examples of its Tunland V7 and V9 4x4, placing it fifteenth (out of 19 entrants) in the PU/CC 4x4 segment.
